Why does my doctor recommend using chemotherapy cream in Autumn rather than summer?
Hi Kate
When you use the cream in summer you need to avoid sunlight on affected area. It also makes your skin unbearably hot and irritated which is made worse in during hot weather. Yes you can use it in summer but it is easier to do in the cooler months.

Hello and thanks for posting
I see that you've been given some good advice already from Farmer_Ed.
Chemotherapy cream can make your skin very sensitive, inflamed, sore, or even blistered in the area being treated. In summer, stronger sunlight and heat can make these side effects worse, and the treated skin can burn much more easily.
Autumn is usually cooler and has less intense sunlight, which helps protect your skin and makes the treatment a bit easier to cope with, which is probably why your doctor is recommending using the chemotherapy cream in Autumn rather than during the summer.
I hope this helps. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
