Hi Joyce1979 and thank you for your post.
I am sorry to learn that you have had a thyroidectomy and that you are now having symptoms that are causing concern, this must be a worrying time.
We would always advise that if you have any concerns regarding the worsening of symptoms or any changes following your surgery, you should consult your general practitioner or hospital specialist.
While it’s possible that your symptoms are a normal part of the healing process, it’s best to be safe and have yourself checked.
Only a doctor can make a medical assessment so the best thing to do is to go back and see your GP or hospital specialist. They will assess you and decide whether you need to go for tests.
I really hope you know more soon and that everything will be okay for you.
Please get back to us if you need any more information or support. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
Kind regards
Tina
