I have just finished a course of Efudix on my leg and have to wait now for my 3 month check up. Is it advisable to use a hot tub during this period as my leg is still quite pink/red.
It is difficult for us to be very specific on this as we are not involved in your clinical care. Your dermatology team are better placed to advise you further as they are familiar with all your medical details.
But I would imagine that the chlorine in hot tubs has the potential to irritate healing skin or could even delay healing. Open or healing skin can also be more vulnerable to infection.
If you have a dermatology specialist nurse involved in your care, then perhaps they can provide you with further information. You often have to call and leave them a message and they will get back to you.
