Nodula melanoma

Hello my gp saw me yesterday and looked at a 4mm  lump on my bum.  She said it looks and feels like a cyst and there's pigmentation.  She told me to come back 2 weeks to see if grown.  But surely if its looks suspicious I can't wair 2 weeks! Im.worried about nodula melanoma.

    I am sorry to hear how your situation is affecting you and your anxiety levels.

    As I said yesterday you have seen your GP which was the right thing to do and they want you to wait 2 weeks before reviewing this again.

    I don't think anyone here can put your mind at ease so I suggest you speak with your GP surgery and ask if you can see a different doctor to get their opinion.

    Im sorry to hear you are worried about the cyst on your bottom being Nodular Melanoma. Your GP will have seen many cases of cysts and melanomas if she says it both looks and feels like a cyst it very likely is. The follow up appointment in 2 weeks will confirm if it is a cyst if it has not grown. If it puts your mind at ease most nodular melanomas occur on exposed areas on the back of the neck and head rather than on places which get little sun exposure. Nurse Naomi has given you some good advice too. All the best.

    Hello I spoke to another doctor today as I was so anxious waiting and she read out my notes they actually think its a small mole now but this has got me even more worried! Alhough I've asked do they suspect melanoma and they said no but they want to look at it again next week.

    Hello been to the Gp and she looked at the lesion again she thinks its a mole, its 4mm by 5mm and raised.  She said she's not concerned but has put a urgent refferal to Dermatology.  She said because its in my bum crack it be hard to monitor but I'm still terrfied. I've already waiting 2 weeks and now another 2 weeks surely they need to push this further.  I'm concerned about nodular melanoma.  She first looked at it 2 weeks ago and today and said its not changed. I'm going out of my mind with this now

    Hello Bear,

    It's good you saw your doctor, and they feel it is just a mole. It sounds like they have referred you to dermatology to be sure.

    As I have said in your other thread, when you see the doctor next, do also discuss your health anxiety, which leaves you in a very difficult way.

    Focusing on this cancer forum will always keep cancer and the idea of it at the front of your mind, which sadly is for many people who are diagnosed with it. But, for those who do not have cancer, but have health anxieties or possible unusual changes, it is always best to talk with your GP.

    When will I get this appointment? What will happen? How soon do you get biopsy results? So sorry doctor rang and told me they not sure but think it's a mole but need to check not sure how to deal with this at all....they did say they are not concerned but need it checked

    I'm dark skinned can you get melanoma in your bum...also I'm worried with the amount of waiting surely that's not good as melanoma is aggressive I thought about going private but there's lots of costs
