Change in breast size

I had breast cancer surgery in my right breast 10 years ago and the cancer was caught early so after 5yrs my medication was stopped.  Last year I had a mammogram which seemed suspect but was told later that it was a false alarm.

In the last month I have noticed a marked reduction of that breast comparison to my other one.  Should I get it checked out ?  Is this indicative of the cancer returning?

  • Hi Surfingpiglet,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear that you have noticed this change. We are always advised to check out any changes in our breasts, as soon as possible. You should certainly get it checked out again, even if only for your own peace of mind.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hello and thanks for your enquiry,

Breast tissue does change as we age, so size and appearance often also alters as we age. If you are worried, then do make an appointment to see your GP for a breast examination. They can assess you and advise further. It makes sense to get checked for peace of mind.

I hope that you manage to get this health concern addressed soon,

    Best wishes,

    Vanda

  • Thank you. I was just worried as the change has occurred just in the past few weeks. I'll see a doctor when I return from holiday.
