Growth in labia minora

Would appreciate some advice based on your experience with managing vulva cancer. I'm in my late 20's. Never been sexually active. 2 years ago I noticed a 0.5-1mm "growth" on my right labia minora in the shower. The growth is very soft, easily movable, non-tender, not normally painful, feels like a skin tag with a stalk that attaches the growth to the labia. For the past 2 years, this has given me no bother and I only feel/notice the growth in the shower when washing the area with my hand. Hence I have not spoken to a doctor about it because I thought nothing of it and assumed it may be a skin tag possibly caused by friction in the area with clothing for example. However, I am currently on my period and noticed in the shower that the growth currently feels slightly larger and more pronounced. Whilst on my period currently, the growth isn't particularly tender, but I suppose it's a bit uncomfortable when I touch it in the shower. I was wondering if being on my period increases blood flow to the genital area and perhaps why the growth feels more pronounced.

However, my other main concern is that this growth could be a result of vulva cancer - please can you advise on whether vulva cancers can present initially in this way?

I will get it checked out by my GP although I would also be concerned they may not think much of it and send me away.
