Hello, and thank you for posting.
I am afraid I cannot explain your mother-in-law's blood count as i do not know which particular blood test this refers to. There are hundreds of blood tests taken, particularly in haematology and cancer, so this could be related to anything.
If she has a specialist nurse or is attending the hospital at all, it would be good for her to ask them about her results and expected ranges so that she understands them better. This website explains blood tests and ranges if helpful.
Take care, and if you want to talk things through with the nurses on the helpline the number is 0808 800 4040. Lines are open mon-fri, 9-5.
Sarah.
