Left in the lurch!!!!

Hi,

been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, also Osteoarthritis, Bipolar, Ibs, Knee issues, so I do know what pain is, have had pelvic scan a mnth ago Nxt Fri, am not getting anything re results, even my Drs secretary is supposed to call them!

I have been sent for an urgent Cancer scan, nor low Vit D, got a 7 wk course& have been told Liver issues, was wondering if this could be the suspected Cancer as I was referred after a bleed, I am 57 & have had a Mirena coil in was taken out 10 mnths ago, no bleed at all ever.

Have a Drs appointment on Wed a.m. This is to discuss worsening pain all over, I can cope if I have it, in fact I will kick it up its backside but the NOT KNOWING is awful.

Hiding this from my 90year old Mum who just wouldn’t cope.

Any advice greatfully received

Kind Regards

Sandy.

  • Hello Sandy and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear about your situation.

It is difficult to give an opinion without being involved in your care.

It is really not until you have had the scan and any other tests that the doctors suggest will they hopefully get to the bottom as to cause of your symptoms.

There are other conditions other then cancer that may be the cause so do keep an open mind.

Discuss the pain you are experiencing with the doctor when you speak to them on Wednesday. They maybe able to give their opinion about any further investigations.

I can understand how unsettling it can be waiting for results.

I do hope you know more soon.

If you would like to speak to one of the helpline nurses then you are welcome to give us a ring.

The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    All the best,

    Catherine
