Ibs and neuroendocrine tumours

Having had IBS symptoms since my early 50s is it possible that I have really had slow growing NETs?  Also have lung problems but never have been diagnosed with any lung condition, ie. COPD. Is it possible that now that I have breast cancer and am having hormone blockers are the tumours through my bones and lungs and gut are in fact NETs?

Hello and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear that you are worried about your health. Without being involved in your care it is really only your GP who can investigate your symptoms and can assess whether you need any further tests.

The Patients Association have some useful tips about making the most out of your appointment.

You may find it helpful to make a list of questions that you want to ask the doctor, perhaps concentrating on the symptoms that are causing you the most concern.

There are other conditions other then cancer that may be the cause of your symptoms so do try not to over think it all.

Try and make the most of your time with the GP and you may consider taking some one with you to listen to what the doctor has to say.

I hope that you feel better soon.

    All the best,

    Catherine
