Nasopharyngeal Cancer and double vision.

Hi everybody, I pray for all to be well.

i recently been diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Cancer. I have chronic migraines, ear ache and lost of hearing, jaw numbness with tingling. This week I have had scans done and am waiting for the dates of when to start radiotherapy. My concern is within a week my eye sight has got really bad (double vision) cannot see straight within a few inches in front of me. One of my eye is stuck does not move properly? Can anybody help with this? Will the vision improve after treatments?

Blessings,

Sam

  • Hello Sam, and thanks for posting.

I am sorry to learn of your recent diagnosis. This must be a difficult time.

I am also sorry to learn that you are experiencing symptoms with your eyes. I wondered if you have a specialist nurse (CNS) and if your team was aware of this. If not, it is worth letting them know as they may be able to advise you if they think this is being caused by the cancer and whether it will improve with treatment.

Not being involved in your care or knowing what has caused your symptoms, unfortunately, we cannot say.

I hope you can get some help with this soon. Please come back to us if you have any questions or if you would like to speak with one of our nurses on our helpline. We are available between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday, and the freephone number to call is 0808 800 4040.

    Take care,

    Jemma
