Tiredness

Hi my husband started hormone treatment for prostate cancer before he receives his radiotherapy.  He started on the Bicalutamide table first and finished those on 6th March without any side effects.  He had his first 3 month injection of Decapeptyl on 18th February and has been fine until last night when he said he ached everywhere and was really tired.  He’s no better today and although he was up this morning has gone back to bed to sleep this afternoon - is this normal or should I be contacting the hospital.

  • Hi there seagram and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear your husband is receiving treatment for prostate cancer and doesn't seem to be feeling well the past couple of days.

There is information about Triptorelin (Decapeptyl) and it's side effects on our website. Whilst some people can experience tiredness and fatigue whilst taking this medication there could be other causes as well, such as a viral illness.

I would see how he goes but if it worsens or he becomes unwell in any way then do reach out to his hospital team or GP for advice.

I hope this helps but do get back in touch if you have more questions or if you prefer to speak over the phone then our number is 0808 800 4040, we're here weekdays 9-5.

All the best to you and your husband

    Naomi
