I am sorry to hear that you are having investigations about a spot on your gum.

As we are not involved in your care we can't say what it could be but it is important that if it is a 'spot', that doesn't seem to be clearing up, it is investigated. The doctors at the hospital may want to do a biopsy to find out what it is.

Try not to overthink it for now. There may be other causes other then cancer but it is important to rule it out.
