It can take a couple of weeks or so for a report to be done and forwarded on to the referring doctor. This can vary a little.

I can appreciate that this is an anxious time, and hope that you have the support of friends and family. Keeping busy and occupied can help too.

Just phoned up the hospital. Been told that the CT results are back and the surgeons are waiting to 'put together a plan' and someone will call soon. 

Just updating this. The CT results came back next working day, I am now under a colorectal surgeon consultant rather than A&E and am being discussed in an MDT this week. I still have not been given a diagnosis.

It is not unusual to have scans and then have the results discussed at the MDT without speaking with someone beforehand.

Once everything has been discussed, the hospital will be in contact with you.

I can appreciate it can be an anxious and stressful time waiting but I hope you can get some answers soon,

Don’t worry, there’s nothing in between.
At the MDT the scan will be discussed, if there’s enough evidence a diagnosis will be agreed. If not, further scans or tests will be ordered. A lead clinician will be agreed and they will be who you next see to discuss treatment options.
