Lump under the corner of my left jawline.

Hi all, please let me know if this is not the appropriate place for this post.

over 4 weeks ago a small lump appeared right under the corner of my left jawline. Left it two weeks before reaching out to GPs. I just put it down to an underlying infection that I wasn’t feeling the effects of. Even though it does radiate numbness down my neck and up into my face some times. I have just received my blood results back and whilst most are all within ‘ normal range’ there’s a few sections where some are very low and some that are very high but like I said still within the classified ‘normal range’. The Gp left a note on the results. Saying satisfactory and no action unless symptoms persist. I have already got an appointment booked back in with the GP as she made me book it in when booking in the blood test. This appointment will be 5 weeks since first noticing the lump. I generally feel unwell and run down (very fatigued)  but I am 5months post partum and with a two year old. So some symptoms can be put down to this. I just don’t know if it’s worth visiting the gp again if she going to tell me ‘nothings wrong’ or to go back and express my concerns for the fact this lump is still there and how tired I feel.

  • Hi there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear you aren't feeling too well at the moment alongside noticing this lump.

It is good to hear you saw your GP and they ran some bloods that have come back okay. There are normal ranges and a slight variation in these is common, so try not to worry about this.

Unfortunately no one here can say why you are feeling the way you are but as you have said tiredness is very normal if and when you have very small children.

As the lump is still there and you aren't feeling great I would suggest speaking with the GP again just to put your mind at ease. They can reassess you and if needed arrange more tests. In the meantime do remember symptoms can be caused by many things and most of the time won't be the result of something as serious as a cancer.

I hope you start feeling better soon.

    Take care

    Naomi
