Scan Results

Hi,

I had a CT scan middle of February 2025 and I have found out the scan results came back last Wednesday but they weren’t discussed in MDT this week but have been added to the list to be discussed in next weeks MDT. I’m now concerned something is wrong and it would have been 5 weeks since the scan was done.

i don’t understand why they have done this.

  • Hi Helena1 and thank you for your post.

I can appreciate it is a stressful and worrying time not knowing the result of your CT scan.

It maybe that the results came back after the cut off point for adding people to the list. But I would like to think that if there was anything suspicious  to discuss, they would have added you to this week's MDT as urgent.

Could you speak with your hospital specialist's secretary to find out why there is a delay in putting you on the MDT list?

You may find it helpful to seek advice and voice your concerns to the hospital's Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)

I really hope you know more soon and that everything will be okay for you.

Please get back to us if you need any more information or support. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards

    Tina

  • Hi,

    thank you for your reply.

i received a letter via email to day with my scan results it says “The summary of the scan reads that there is no nodal or metastatic disease, meaning the scan does not show the spread of disease. It also says that there is a focal change in the vascularity, meaning the vascular supply of the right lobe of liver, which is of uncertain significance, meaning that it is not understood or it is not of any excess value” which is going to be discussed next week in MDT.  However I do have fatty live disease (NAFLD), haemangioma in the right lobe of my liver so I’m hoping this is the cause but have a feeling it’s more than that.

just disappointed that this was not discussed this week. I Will speak with PALS
