  • Hello Shaky and thank you for posting,

I am sorry to learn that you need to have another LLetz procedure. This must be difficult.

Unfortunately, abnormal cells can come back after treatment, this might be because the HPV infection never fully went away. However, this does not mean that this will be ongoing, but it does mean you will need to continue being monitored. It would be best to discuss this with the team at the colposcopy unit who will know your situation.

It is possible to become pregnant after Lletz, but rarely there can be problems such as having a baby earlier than 37 weeks a lot will depend on how much of the cervical tissue has been removed. So it is important to let your midwife or doctor know that you have had treatment for abnormal cells.

I hope this reply helps a little. I hope all goes OK with your LLetz treatment and that you can discuss any concerns with the team.

If you have any further questions do come back to us.

    Take care,

    Jemma
