Unfortunately, yes, cancer can sometimes come back quite quickly after treatment. Some cancers are faster growing than others, and if even a few cancer cells remained after treatment, they can start to grow again. It's also possible that this new finding on the scan was already there but was too small to be seen on earlier scans.

Your specialist team will go through your options with you, whether that's more treatment, surgery or other approaches to help manage things as they are familiar with all your medical details.
