Recovery from surgery

Hi I had a kidney, spleen and adrenal gland removed in October 24..Starting to feel a little better now but that may be due to steroids prescribed for diarrhoea after I treatment of immune therapy..I am starting to get a little pain in my side again not much but niggling. Also a feeling of tightness and weight as if there is something hanging inside.Waiting for scan results but just want to know if these feelings inside are just part of healing process. Thank you for your time

  • Hello Bloomer and thanks for posting

It sounds like you've been through a really tough time with your surgery and treatment, and it's understandable to feel worried about any new or lingering sensations.

After such major surgery, it's normal to have ongoing aches, tightness and odd sensations as your body heals. Scar tissue, internal swelling, and changes in how your remaining organs settle can all cause discomfort.

The steroids you've been prescribed are making you a little better for now, but it's good that you're keeping an eye on your symptoms. A small amount of pain can be part of healing, but if it get's worse or feels different, it's always best to check in with your doctor. I appreciate waiting for scan results is stressful but try and take things one step at a time until you know more.
