Cancer help
Hi there and thanks for the post
I am sorry to hear you are suffering with cancer fatigue. This is common symptom for many patients and I appreciate how this can affect a persons every day life and activities.
There is more information about this and some different ways people manage and treat cancer fatigue on our website so do take a look.
It is important that patients are assessed by their doctor to make sure there aren't other causes for the fatigue. Things such as anaemia (low red blood counts), sleep apnoea or an underlying infection can also cause fatigue and of course need treating if found.
It is known that making some simple life style adjustments such as exercising, eating a healthy and balanced diet, getting good rest and sleep can all help. Other people may also wish to explore things such as CBT, complementary therapies and even medications in some cases but this is something you can discuss with your own doctor.
You also ask about cancer help, there are many different cancer support services up and down the country offering various services to patients. These often include talking therapies, benefits and financial advice, complementary therapies and sign posting to other local support services. You can search these up on the Cancer Care Map website.
I hope this is of help to you but please get back if you have further questions. You are also welcome to call the nurses on 0808 800 4040 weekdays 9-5 if you prefer.
All the best
Naomi
