Curiosity/worry

I’m the past few months I have been at the hospital numerous of times with severe stomach pain, I have been referred for more tests like the camera down my throat I’ve already been waiting over two years for this test, things have only got worse the past 3 weeks I’ve had sever sweats to the extent I’m having to strip the bed nearly evey night and get washed as I’m waking up head to toe wet, about a week ago I had an all over body itch it was going from legs to arms all over my back and just kept changing places without redness/rash, it has now calmed down but comes back at random times of the day, on Saturday I started vomiting on and off and getting dizzy spells on and off and I’m just worried as I’ve googled my symptoms and red up on peoples story’s with the same thing happening and they have lead back to cancer, I have raised this concern with my gp a few times as I have just had a gut feeling that there’s more than what they think is going on, but I keep getting told the same thing, red blood cells are low but nothing to be concerned about, recently told that my heamoglobin and iron are concerning low and if iron/folic acid don’t help I’ll need iron infusion could someone please give me advice on what to do next or who to speak to or what to say as I’m extremely worried

  • Hello and thanks for posting

I’m sorry to read about what has been happening and can appreciate that unexplained symptoms can prey on your mind.

I'm afraid we can't say what might be the matter (diagnose). Our standard advice is to talk things over with your GP and be guided by them which I see you’ve already done.

It sounds like your GP has taken your symptoms seriously as they have done blood tests and you are going to be having an endoscopy soon and you mention you have been referred for further tests.

If your symptoms persist, all we can really advise you to do is to go back and discuss them again with your GP. They may consider doing further tests over time if this is needed. It's often a process of elimination to find out the cause of someone's symptoms.

Try if you can to avoid googling until you know exactly what you are dealing with, as you don't want to be looking at the wrong information.

I hope you know more about your situation soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
