Skin Cancer and sun protection. What should I use?

Please  could you tell me what sun block i should use ,i have just had two skin cancers removed from my face     thank you

  • Hi there and thanks for posting

I am sorry to hear you have had a couple of skin cancers on your face and can understand you wanting to do all you can to protect your skin moving forward.

We cannot recommend a specific brand or sunscreen product but the important thing is to make sure you protect your skin as much as possible whilst in the sun. This is by covering up at the hottest parts of the day and when in direct sunlight trying to wear a hat, sunglasses as well as high factor sunscreen. The minimal recommendation for sun screen is a minimum SPF of 15 with a UVA and UVB protection. Many dermatologists recommend a SPF of 50 after a skin cancer diagnosis, as well as a star rating of 4/5 to give the best protection.

We have more information about skin care after skin cancer which explains all of this more.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Best wishes

    Naomi
