Pan Endoscopy

Good morning,

the referral letter from the consultant said the biopsy they were going to take was from a “ Laryngeal mass to the left side. “

The rear underside of my tongue, at the very back of my mouth is very sore. Swallowing hurts & I  cannot poke my  tongue out.

I am wondering how long it will take for the scene of the biopsy to heal completely.
thank you

regards

Magzo

  • Hello Magzo and thank you for posting,

I am sorry to learn you need tests on a laryngeal mass.

I was unsure how long ago it was you had your panendoscopy. The information about how long it takes to recover fully is vague because everyone is different.

It is common to feel sore for a few days afterward but things should start to settle on their own.

The main thing is if you feel things are not improving or are worsening then do contact the ENT department, hopefully, you have been given a number or perhaps your GP and they can advise you what pain relief to take or whether or not you need any antibiotics.

I hope things start to improve for you soon and your results are OK,

    Take care,

    Jemma
