Don’t know which way to turn

Hi

I’m 74 and recently had a full abdominal ultrasound including a vaginal ultrasound.  It seems I have fluid in my uterus. My GP wants me to see a gynaecologist. I’m told this is something that you can live with, as the treatment looks pretty awful.
my question is, do I need this looked at?

Since my last UTI 9 months ago I’ve had lower abdominal ache. It aches all the time, a bit like pressure.  Sometimes once  I’ve had a wee it aches  more as though I’m bursting for a wee to the point of aching.

my GP wants to put me on an antibiotic tablet once a day for a month to see how I go on. could the two be related and if left could my uterus become more serious.

thank you

  • Hi 580Lupin and thank you for your post.

I'm sorry to read about your situation. It does sound like this is a difficult time for you

There are several reasons for fluid accumulation in the womb. A gynaecologist may conduct further tests to determine the cause of the fluid buildup.

I am sorry that I cannot tell you if your abdominal ache and your fluid in your uterus is related. Only a gynaecologist may be able to determine whether the two are connected.

I really hope you know more soon and that everything will be okay for you.
