Blood tests can fluctuate from time to time and when they are checked again they often go back to normal or come down as your platelet count did.

As for your haemoglobin ( HB ) level being at 118, it's only slightly on the low side, but since your iron levels and other blood cells are fine, it may not be due to iron deficiency. There are other reasons why HB levels can be low, including mild inflammation, or even something as simple as being slightly dehydrated at the time of your blood test. Your doctor may want to repeat your bloods again over time to check if everything is ok.
