Hi Carla,
A very warm welcome to our forum.
I am sorry to hear that you are finding your breast slightly itchy, while using Alara cream. Unfortunately, we are not doctors, but other people with cancer issues, so we cannot suggest what might help you. Have you discussed this with your care team? They have all of your medical records and should be able to recommend something that might work.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hello and thanks for posting,
You could take a daily oral antihistamine tablet (non drowsy type) as this would help. I don't think it is advised to use any other cream on the BCC itself apart from Aldara. If you can, do ring the hospital pharmacist department, if this was dispensed within a hospital, as they have more knowledge about specialist prescriptions such as Aldara. You may be able to apply over the counter cream that helps with itching near but not on, the actual treatment area, but this could be tricky depending on if it was near a skin fold for example. The pharmacist can advise you. Most creams are absorbed into the skin within an hour or so. Your prescribing doctor, (if it was your GP that prescribed it) may also have a view on this.
I hope this helps,
Best wishes,
Vanda
Thank you very much for your help information I will try that and also speak to the pharmacist appreciate your assistance
Thank you
