Hello Carol 16 and thanks for your post,
I am sorry to hear about your mum. this must be a difficult time for you all.
It is difficult to know why your mum has not been given any information. If her care has now been transferred in to the community then it may be a good idea for your mum to make an appointment with the GP to talk things through.
The hospital will have written to her GP with all her details.
If she is not being offered any treatment it maybe that they don't feel there is a need for scans to monitor the cancer as often a scan is used to work out whether a treatment is shrinking or controlling the cancer but as I am not involved in your mum's care it is difficult to know if this is the case.
If your mum was given a specialist nurse at the hospital then she could always try and speak to them. Your mum could also request an appointment with the team who have been looking after her.
If all these suggestions don't work there is the option of speaking to Pals so they can look in to it for you both.
I do hope that you both know more soon.
You are also welcome to ring the helpline and speak to one of the nurses. the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm and the Freephone number is 0808 800 4040.
All the best,
Catherine
