Metastatic Stage 4 Endometrial Cancer

I was diagnosed in November 2024 with secondary lung cancer, it was a complete shock.  I assumed it was a chest infection.  I have been in hospital for the past week with a chest infection and a pulmonary embolism, heavy duty steroids have made my face swell up so I can't eat or drink properly and feel very self conscious.

I was on a 6 chemo cycle but have discovered that after the 3rd cycle it has been unsuccessful.  My left lung is completely covered with the cancer still thickening.  Hopefully it will be possible to try immunotherapy but the side effects scare me.

Can anyone offer any personal advice from your own experiences?

  • Hello Scottish Piglet and thanks for your post,

I am sorry to hear about your situation.

Everyone reacts differently to immunotherapies. The side effects will also be determined by the type of immunotherapies that the doctors prescribe you.

We have some information on immunotherapies on our website.

I think it is a question of seeing how you get on and reporting back to the doctors and chemo nurses if you have any side effects.

It would be good for you to hear from other members of the forum but do remember everyone's experience may be slightly different from your own. You may also find that if you post on another thread of the forum you may get more responses.

I do hope the treatment goes well for you.

If you would like to chat things through with one of the helpline nurses you are welcome to give us a call . The helpline number operates during office hours Monday to Friday and the Freephone number is 0808 800 4040.

    All the best,

    Catherine

  • Thank you for the information and your reply.  I've not heard of anyone's experience with immunotherapy but I'm optimistic that it will help. I have to wait to see what the consultant recommends for me.

The additional information you have given is most helpful

    Thank you
