Hi,
I have developed a sore hard lump behind my left ear on the bone and a soft squishy lump behind my left earlobe. The painful hard lump developed four days ago and hasn't gone away. The lump behind my ear lobe is very small and started today, but isn't sore to touch.
I can't remember any injury, infection or cold to cause this. I am perfectly healthy but I have been going back and forth to my GP for tiredness that I can't shake. I never wake up refreshed no matter how much sleep I get - I can sleep for thirteen hours and still be groggy. I'm exhausted for what seems like absolutely no reason.
They have taken so many blood tests but all they can find is low folic acid and low vitamin D, so now I am on folic acid replacement and Stexerol D3 with absolutely no improvement.
I phoned NHS 24 today (Sunday) because I hoped they could get me an urgent appointment with my GP tomorrow. They asked if it was red or if I had a headache which I don't. I have pressure in my left ear as if it's filled with water which I told them. I also said it was painful on the bone constantly.
I have noticed my hearing getting mildly worse before the lump developed. I can't hear my husband speak over the television and I accused him of mumbling. I can hear perfectly fine the majority of the time so maybe he is.
NHS 24 advised me to wait a few more days and then call the GP myself for a routine if it's still there.
I am really worried though but my anxiety might be obsessing over something minor.
Thanks.
