Zoletronic side effect

I had an infusion of zoletronic acid 8 days ago. I have felt awful all week but yesterday my knee swelled up and my wrists and base of my thumbs hurt and have gone weak. My whole left leg and hands have been in pain all night. This morning I can hardly walk or stand. I can't get the lid off the coffee jar , lift the kettle or carry a cup of coffee. My left knee is still very swollen with pain running up to my buttock. I've taken ibuprofen. Is it going to go away by itself or do I need to do something?

    Unfortunately, our nurses are not online over the weekend so they won't be able to respond until early next week. I am sorry to hear you have been feeling awful since having the zoletronic acid infusion 8 days ago. It sounds like things got worse yesterday and this morning and I would strongly advise you get in touch with 111 for out of hours medical advice on this. Make sure you mention you had the zoletronic infusion 8 days ago and describe all your symptoms in detail. I hope you manage to speak to a doctor very soon about this.

    I am sorry to learn you have been feeling so awful after your infusion. I don't know if you did contact anyone over the weekend as Lucie our moderator suggested. If not then do give your team at the hospital a call to let them know. As they know your situation they will be able to give you a bit more information.

    Your side effects should start to improve but how long this may take I cannot say.

    Thank you Lucie for replying so quickly. I appreciate it. I haven't had any luck communicating with my cancer care nurses. So I had two days of agonising pain. I strapped my wrists up and used cold compresses on my knee. Today I bought a knee brace and over the day the pain has subsided just hurting. It seems to be going away by itself. It was a bit scary as I'm a carer for my husband and the roles reversed.
