Dealing with secondary bladder cancer in lung

My wife has a small, 4mm node in her lung which may be cancer that has come after RC for bladder cancer. Is it ever considered to surgically remove such nodes if they are cancer or is this not possible and other treatment given

  • Hello and thanks for posting

I'm sorry to read about your wife's situation. This must be a difficult time for you both.

Not all nodes turn out to be cancerous. However, since your wife has had bladder cancer her doctors will want to investigate this further. If the node is confirmed to be cancer, treatment options will depend on several factors, such as, if it has spread somewhere else, the specific location of the node and your wife's overall general health.

Her doctors will be in a much better position to discuss treatment options once all her results are through.

We do have information on our website on how secondary bladder may be treated.

I hope you both know more soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Best wishes,
