I'm sorry to read about your wife's situation and appreciate that this is an incredibly difficult time for you both..

Whether your wife's liver cancer can be treated while she has AML will depend on several factors such as her general health, how advanced the liver cancer is, and how well her AML is being managed.

Treatment for both conditions together may be challenging because AML and its treatments can weaken the immune system making it harder to tolerate other treatments for liver cancer.

But your wife's doctors are better placed to advise you both on this as they are as they are familiar with all her medical details.

Patients usually have their case reviewed by a multidisciplinary team (MDT) made up of local specialist doctors from different medical disciplines and other health professionals. The MDT then suggests what the treatment plan will be.
