Skin Cancer

Back in October 2024 I had a BCC removed successfully. I have a number of lesions I was concerned about went back to my GP and now have an appointment with my local hospital this Friday.

I am feeling really worried as one is under very close under my eye and others on my neck and back.

Any advice please.

kind regards

  • Hello Maur60 and thank you for posting,

I am sorry to learn that you have lesions that are causing you concern, especially with the position of one of them close to your eye.

When you see the doctor at your local hospital they will be able to give you much more of an idea of what the lesions are and whether or not they need to be removed. If surgery is needed different types of surgery can be done, depending on the size and position of the lesion and there may also be other treatment options available such as creams. A lot will depend on what the lesions are. When you do see the doctor, it helps to tell them what your concerns are.

I do appreciate that waiting for appointments and tests to check for skin cancer can be a very stressful and anxious time. If you would like to talk things through with one of the nurses on the helpline we are available between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday and the freephone number to call is 0808 800 4040,

    Take care,

    Jemma
