I am sorry to hear you had a positive FIT test that needs further investigating.

As you say most people with a positive FIT will go on to have a colonoscopy so that the bowel can be closely inspected. However it is normal procedure for people referred on the suspected cancer pathway to receive a phone call from a nurse to make a further assessment and ask some questions prior to a colonoscopy being arranged.

Of course this must be a worrying time for you but do remember there are other reasons for blood in the stools other than cancer. Hopefully you will know more your situation very soon.

I seem to be losing weight rapidly, is this end stage cancer symptom, please?

I am sorry to hear about your weight loss but again there can be lots of reasons for this. Yes it can be a sign of cancer but doesn't automatically mean if this is cancer it is at a later stage.

As I say the nurse will take all the symptoms you have into account and hopefully you will know more very soon.

As difficult as it can be try not to over think things until you have all the information about what is going on for you.
