Lymphoma worries.

Hello, I'm just asking on here if I should be worried.

I've had a swollen cervical lymph node in my neck for around 6ish years. I went to the doctor who said was nothing to worry about, well its still here 6 years on and have them on the other side, they are soft and can move them, I am not poorly nor have I been poorly in the past months. I have severe health anxiety so am panicking

Obviously gonna go to the docs Monday just wondering if I should be worried.

Thanks in advance x

  • Hello and thanks for posting,

It is very unlikely that lymph nodes that have been there some time and remain the same, without other symptoms, is anything serious. Just to say that as nurses we do not diagnose or comment on symptoms anyway. We always suggest health worries are assessed by a doctor.

Your GP will assess you and hopefully reassure you. You mentioned health anxiety. Do discuss this more with your GP. They may be able to refer you for some support with this. Health anxiety if not addressed can snowball and become very impactful on your daily life.

I hope that the appointment goes well,

    Best wishes,

    Vanda
