It is difficult for me to give an exact answer for your situation as I am not part of the team that has been seeing you, so do ask these questions when you go for your next colposcopy. However, what I can say is that the abnormal cells in your cervix (not womb) are not cancer cells.

There are many different strains of HPV so it isn't that the strain you have had has gotten worse, the first strain has likely gone and a different strain is now present. It can take the body 18 months to get on top of a strain of HPV and there isn't unfortunately anything that can make this happen quicker. But, as long as you remain in the screening programme and attend your appointments, then you have the best protection against future problems.

We do know that smoking can make it more difficult for the immune system to work against HPV, so do be aware of this if you smoke.
