I am sorry to hear that your wound area is sore and painful after lung surgery. It can take 6-8 weeks for a wound to heal inside. During this time
it is normal to feel numbness, stinging, or tingling around your wound area or the side of your chest. The pain can be from damage to nerves during the operation.
If you remain concerned I would suggest contacting someone from your hospital team or your nurse specialist and talking it through with them.
