Small pea sized lump under skin at side of neck

The lump is under my skin at the left side of my neck. It is not visible and I don’t have any other symptoms. I think I have had it for over a year but it’s never seemed to cause any issues. It’s around the size of a pea. The doctor told me it’s most likely a lymph node but I’m being referred for a scan soon. Is it most likely a lymph node? Because I have started to worry a lot more about it now

  • Hello and thank you for your post,

I am sorry to hear about this lump and the worry it is causing you.

I am afraid that it is not possible for me to know what this is but your GP has given you a medical opinion which could be right. Be reassured that the ultrasound scan will be able to see what this is and hopefully, it is nothing worrying. After you have had the scan done a report will be sent back to your GP. So, perhaps you may want to make a GP appointment to discuss the results when they are ready.

I hope you don't wait too long to find out what this is.

    Take care

    Caroline
