Male teenager has spot that has been disappearing and reappearing

Hi

ive had a mole on the side of my torso for a long time maybe even 10 years or so. Its been coming and going in the same spot noticeably for a while. 

when it comes, it starts out as red then develops into a lump that’s is usually purple/ black. I accidentally popped it the other day is it started to bleed. Now it’s gone down and shrunk. 

usually I have it for a week and then it goes for 5/6 months. 
id just like to know whether I should worry and get it checked out? From what I’ve heard melenoma skin cancer doesn’t come and go but I could be wrong

    Hi Moxn

    Get your GP to have a look at it. At least for your peace of mind. Most moles are not cancerous. Meanwhile get on with doing the stuff you enjoy.

    I'm sorry this mark on your torso is concerning you, I think I may have spoke with you on the helpline yesterday afternoon.

    As I and others have said if you are worried then there is no harm in seeing your GP so they can take a look at it. Hopefully they can put your mind at ease.

    Unfortunately google can't say what this is and is likely to cause you more worry.
