Throbbing back pain

Hi I’ve just woken up with throbbing back pain, can’t get comfortable lying down. I’m on day 8 of my second chemotherapy for Non Hodgkin lymphoma. Can I take any painkillers and if so what?

  • Hello and thanks for your post

I'm sorry you are experiencing back pain Certain chemotherapy drugs can cause joint pain.

It's probably best to take some paracetamol for now to see if that helps manage the pain. It's also important to let your GP or chemotherapy team know if the pain is not improving. They can assess you and prescribe other painkillers to help manage it.

I hope your pain improves soon. Give us a ring if you would like to talk anything over. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Kind regards,

    Celene
