My Partner has Stage 4 Lung Cancer

My partner was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung in August..After continous Doctor Visits since February..He has had 4 cycles of Chemotherapy and Immunatherapy combined. He coped with treatment even though he struggled with side effects..His last cycle was December 13th and he had a CT Scan  on 23rd December and he has his scan results in 2nd Jan..He looks so well..Is this a good sign he has responded to treatment..I am dreading the results and really am not coping with this at all..Has anyone else experiencing this situation..If he hasn't responded to treatment is there any other options..Thank you

  • Hello there and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your partners situation and the side effects he experienced from the treatment he had earlier this year.

Unfortunately no one can say what the scan will show but hopefully he has had a good response to treatment. Thankfully you don't have too much longer to wait now as I appreciate how unsettling this can be.

In terms of what further treatment may be available should he need no one can say, however often there are 2nd line options if the 1st line hasn't worked or the cancer starts to grow again.

For now it is about going to his appointment on the 2nd and going from there.

Wishing you both the best for the new year

    Take care

    Naomi

  • Hi Naomi

grest to tear your partner is doing well.

my mum in law has stage 4 lung cancer she’s had 5 sessions of radiotherapy and she is better than she has been in a long time. Palliative treatment has really helped her symptoms. We know she can’t be cured but she is well and enjoying life x
