Any breast issues/lumps will be pushed through on the fast track 2 week referral.  It's to be on the safe side, I wouldn't panic. Could be a cyst or anything. Good luck.

Aw, well I hope she gets good news. If not, please don't panic. There are so many treatments these days and many breast cancers are treatable. I was diagnosed back in May and by August all treatment was finished except for tablets for 5 years. Many lumps are benign, the wait is terrible I know but the sooner its all dealt with the better. Your mum is very lucky to have you looking out for her x

I can appreciate your question.

Anyone that meets certain clinical criteria are automatically put on the 2 week pathway to receive prompt assessment. Doctors do this so that other referrals meeting different criteria can be booked in as non urgent. A doctor does not always think it is cancer, but will always refer promptly just to be sure.

It is important to keep an open mind until more results are known.
