pancreatic cancer

Hello everyone. I am 58 years old.

I have pancreatic cancer. 8 My family and I are shocked by the news. I am a strong and healthy man. I have never had anything serious. Now I really want to have another test done, but I don't know what to do. I guess my health is expected to gradually worsened.days ago I received the results of the tests at the clinic and they told me that I have 6 months to live.

  • Hello and thank you for posting again,

Being told you have cancer must have been a shock and I can appreciate why you are asking about another test. This sounds like you want another opinion on your diagnosis.

If this is the case it might help to discuss this with your cancer team, they may need to give you more information that could help. They can also refer you to a second opinion if that is what you want. Having one does not mean you will necessarily get another diagnosis but it may help you understand your situation better.

Please also know that you can contact us with any questions you have. You may find it helpful to talk things through with one of the nurses on our helpline. The number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Take care

    Caroline
