Trouble swallowing

Hi I have stage 4 terminal lung cancer I sometimes choke on drinks and food, but I’m having real trouble with taking my tablets, I feel like they either get stuck in my throat or further down and it’s uncomfortable and finding hard to eat, should I be mentioning it to my oncologist as it is becoming a daily thing now and I’m in pain?

  • Hello and thank you for posting. I am so sorry you are having this problem as it doesn't sound very comfortable at all.

    I think it would be good to contact your doctor or specialist nurse to tell them you are having this problem. They may be able to change the medication to liquids or dissolvable, but they may also want to assess you and see why this is happening.
