I have just been diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma of the cervix. For the past year I had god knows how many urine infections, a few got to my kidneys and then they stopped and they had put me on a medication called Hipprex to keep the infections at bay with a high dose of Vitamin C.
However, the back pain never let up and it got so bad that it would travel down into hips and down to my legs to the point walking was so difficult so off I went to the doctor again. The back pain was mainly on my left (round about where your kidneys are). Since my kidneys were clear other than some scarring on the right, GP diagnosed me with arthritis or the arthritis beginning with O. Can’t think of the name or how to spell it. I have had four kids and I have curvature of the spine. Fast forward to November I went back to the doctors because if appeared like I had another urine infection after being clear for so long.
the doctor decided to do an internal because I explained about the change in periods but in my defence I thought I was going through the change. My sister went through it at 41. She seen a growth immediately. She couldn’t tell me what it was so she fast tracked me to have it checked. Four weeks later I’ve been told the 3-4cM Growth on my cervix is cancer and it’s Adenocarcinoma so the rare one out of the two cervical cancers.
I asked her if this is what’s been causing my back pain, she’s now flagged that and is asking the MRI to check whether there is or was any evidence that I ever had arthritis.
I know that back pain is a symptom of cervical cancer but my question is why? What causes it? It’s not a pain where I can catch up on if I take my meds late neither, once I’m late in taking my meds - they make no difference but what does make a huge difference is heat pads. Temporarily fair enough but it does help.
I don’t know how they didn’t see this growth a year ago. There’s no way surely it’s grown to that size in a year surely? I’m 40 btw. My paternal gran died of it when she was 34. My paternal Aunt had a hysterectomy due to pre cancerous cells and then there’s me but I’m still told it’s not genetic. Hard to believe.
If anyone could explain this back pain, it’d be much appreciated.
thanks in advance.
