Hello, this seems like a really silly question.  I used to have a glass of wine with my Christmas dinner.  I am on Tivozanib for stage 4 kidney cancer that has metastasised to my lungs.  Can I still have this one glass or not?  Sorry for asking something so trivial.

    What you've asked is not trivial at all.

    There are no direct interactions between Tivozanib and alcohol in beverages.

    Have that glass of wine with your Christmas dinner and enjoy every sip.

    It is the small everyday pleasures that make life more normal and tolerable. 

    Modern medicine has given many of us a bit more time and better quality life and we should all take advantage of that in whatever way possible.

    I have checked about contra indications and taking Tivozanib. There are no specific contra indications, so having one glass at Christmas would be fine. The drug manufacturers only suggest refraining from having alcohol or citrus juices, if diarrhoea develops as a side effect of treatment. And also if there is any mouth soreness present as a drug side effect.

    You can always check out things with your hospital pharmacy department, as they can tap into your medical hospital records, and advise you accordingly.
