Waiting for biopsy results after being recalled after mammogram

Hi , I’m new here! I had a mammogram and was recalled , apparently my lymph nodes look a bit suspicious,, breast tissue looks healthy I was told , I’ve had a biopsy but the waiting is hell , I’m scared and I’m out of my depth , I’m trying to think positively, google is a no as it gives you depressing results , it’s only a week since the biopsy, im praying for good news

    Being recalled about a breast screening result I know must be a worry. This does not necessarily mean you have cancer but it does need to be checked out.

    In the meantime do try not to look at some of the stories you will see. This is because they can cause someone to worry even more. Try to keep busy with everyday things and focus on something that can take your mind off this like a TV show or film, if you can. Talking to people close could also help.

    Hi Carloline , thank you for your reply , good news is no cancer was found in the lymph node , they have said it’s reactive , but the want another biopsy, is this quite normal to repeat ? Thank you .

    Hello Yolanda29 and thanks for your further post.

    It's good news that the lymph node biopsy was negative.

    When lymph nodes appear reactive, it usually means that they are responding to something like an infection, inflammation, or another issue. Breast screening is very thorough and the doctors want to make absolutely sure there's nothing else going on . This is likely why they have recommended a second biopsy just to be on the safe side.
