Hi there and thanks for posting
I am sorry to hear about the ongoing symptoms you have and appreciate this must be a worrying time for you.
Whilst waiting for tests is never easy, most people referred on a suspected cancer pathway won't go on to be diagnosed with a cancer. However this is the quickest way people are seen within the NHS and if there is something sinister going on it can hopefully be picked up much more swiftly.
Without knowing exactly who you have been referred to it is difficult for anyone to say what tests or investigations you will need. However the doctor usually will ask you about the symptoms you have, examine you ( in your case look at your throat) and then decide what further tests they may need to do according to what they can or can't see.
They will talk you through every step and explain their thoughts with you along the way as they find out more.
Hopefully everything will be okay for you. Please try not to over think things until you have all the facts and information about what is going on with you.
Take care
Naomi
