Moles are very common and the vast majority are not cancerous. GP's are trained to assess moles and I am sure that if there were any concerning features they would consider referring you to a dermatologist for further investigations.

GP's use a ABCDE check-list when looking at moles.

I can understand that you may have found a sunbed helpful in controlling the pain in your back but you may consider looking at other measures to help with the pain as there is always the increased risk of skin cancer from using a sun bed.

Perhaps you could talk to the GP about the pain that you are experiencing.

You could ask the GP whether they think that you could benefit from some physio.
