I had colorectal surgery yesterday where they performed a sigmoidoscopy, biopsies and removed the lump from the anus. I have been bleeding ever since, bright red, fresh blood. Is this normal and when should I be conferred? Thank you

Hi there and thanks for posting
I am sorry to hear about the procedure you had done last week and the bleeding you were experiencing, I hope this has now settled down. People often do experience some bleeding but this is usually a small amount when wiping with a tissue, any more than this should be assessed.
If it hasn't settled by now and you haven't spoken to anyone we would suggest speaking with the hospital or your GP involved or out of hours NHS 111 as mentioned by the moderators.
Best wishes
Naomi
Thank you so much. I did call my GP today to discuss. Thanks again.
