Kidney lesions can sometimes indicate cancer but they can also be benign ( non cancerous). Your doctor will likely do further tests to get a better understanding of your situation.
If it does turn out to be kidney cancer, it's worth noting that kidney cancers often grow slowly and if it's caught at an early stage they may not have spread.
